S Meter Lite Calibrate Dialog Box

This dialog box is used to calibrate S Meter Lite. For each radio type, there are two different calibrations, one for the S Unit scale, and the other for the dB scale. Both scales are calibrated with this same dialog box. The scale choice is made on the Configure dialog box. Once this dialog is started, it can be used to calibrate the S Unit scale or the dB scale, but not both at the same time.

This help page has been written to describe both S Unit and dB calibration.

Calibrate S Unit (or, Calibrate dB)

Select the point to be calibrated from the drop-down list. There are 16 points in each scale. A point corresponds to a labeled part of the scale.

Raw Data Value

The raw data value that corresponds to the point on the left. Calibration is really nothing more than equating the 16 labeled points to their matching raw data values.

Manual Edit

Select this radio button if you want to set the raw data value by manually changing the Raw Data Value edit control or the associated up-down control.

From Radio

Select this radio button if you want to set the raw data value by obtaining it from the radio itself. When this button is clicked, S Meter Lite begins sampling the radio S Meter at 20 Hz. This implies, by the way, that in order to perform the From Radio calibration your radio must be connected and ready.

Set

Click this button when the raw data value on the button title represents stable data at the calibration point. The raw data value will then be transferred to the Raw Data Value edit control.

Set Defaults

Click this button to restore all 16 points to the program default values. Any changes that you have made with respect to calibrating this scale for this radio will be lost.
