Albino Robin

Introduction

This page contains information and pictures for the 2013 year. It was created because all of the previous pages were simply getting to be too big for a reasonable download time. To see information and pictures from previous years, please visit this page.

Sighting continued to fall off in 2013. I have no explanation for that phenomena.

No matter what the reason, it's the start of another new year, and the first sighting was emailed to me on April 11, 2013. In fact, the first two sightings of the year arrived within 16 minutes of each other.

Other Sightings

Here are the sightings that I've heard about since January 1, 2013. These reports came to me via email.

  1. April 11, 2013, London, Ontario, Canada
  2. April 11, 2013, Hawley, Pennsylvania
  3. April 13, 2013, Niles, Michigan

Shared Pictures

As was the case in all previous years, here are pictures graciously emailed to me from folks who have spotted albino robins.

Niles, Michigan

This albino was reported on April 12, 2013. It looks to be a pure albino, although there may be some color on the head. Perhaps he/she is wearing a cap?

I also want to mention that after months without any email sightings, I received 3 in less than a day.

The city of Niles, Michigan has also shown up in the past as a popular location for sightings. I checked in 2012, and on April 26, 2012, there was a sighting for a returning bird that looks just like this one. Here is the link. This is the famous robin named Al. Certainly looks to be the same bird to me. This would be 5 years in a row!
